According to the Cambridge Dictionary, the definition of a monument is “a structure or building that is built to honor a special person or event.” Some acclaimed and eminent monuments include The Taj Mahal, The Egyptian pyramids, The Great Wall of China, The Statue of Liberty, and the Eiffel Tower to name a few. All of these monuments have important historical value and significance behind them. One of the oldest monuments in the world can be dated back to 3600 B.C.! This monument is known as the Megalithic Temples of Malta, and the temples are found on the islands of Malta and Gozo.
