Anarchy means that society has no ruler or government. There is no structure or leader that is governing the people. It is common for anarchy to prevail when a war takes place in the state where a rival group wins power. People who support anarchy want less government intervention over their personal lives.
Typically , anarchists support revolutions and fighting against the current government in power as seen in the Russian and French revolutions.
Here are some historical examples of anarchy in history:
The 20th century marked a rocky start in China due to the differing political views of governing the country. Known as the Warlord Era, China was divided up into regions, and each region was governed by a different leader, known as warlords. The lack of centralized government emerged when the leader of China at that time in 1916, Yuan Shikai, passed away. Shikai was known to unify the country together, but because of his death, there was no clear answer to who has power now. There was no centralized government that was governing the entire country. The warlords in those different regions were known to fight with each other, causing more destruction and chaos within the country.
In 1997, a civil war erupted in Albania. The war broke out because the citizens did not trust the government because the government was acting corrupt and mishandling money. As a result, the government fell, and there was no national leadership. The war resulted in more than 2,000 people dead.
